Travis Wall’s Near Perfect Season Earns Him a Third Track Championship in Six Years

Hampton, VA – Dale Lemonds Victory Lane, VA811.com Pro Six, and Travis Wall; are three things race fans have heard quite often over the last handful of years. That is because the 32-year-old Chesapeake native has cracked the code in the VA811.com Pro Six division finding victory lane week in and week out.

The Old Dominion University Motorsports Engineering graduate has found ways to put up historic numbers in the division over the last half-dozen race season. Collecting twenty-eight wins over those six seasons along with three track championships (2018, 2021, 2022). Wall and his family-run team decided not to compete in the abbreviated 2020 season due to COVID and car owner Wayne Wall requiring shoulder surgery in the same summer.

Twice, Wall has finished a season with at least eight wins. Just this past season Wall was on track for a perfect nine-win campaign. That was until, however, a loose gas gap brought the No. 44 machine down pit road allowing Rookie of the Year contender and Langley Speedway legacy driver Donovan Edwards to pick up the win.

“It was cool to see Donovan win,” Wall commented about his 2022 season. “It was the Edwards Dynasty adding another win to the column but with the next generation driver. It was cool that he would ask me questions all season long too.  Although I would’ve much rather win that race though.”

The VA811.com Pro Six division is set to return to Langley Speedway in 2023 with ten features. Travis Wall has full intentions of returning to the division to make another run for the ever-elusive three-peate. However, he has also said that he is open to new and exciting opportunities should they present themselves.

“[The] Pro Six is the plan for racing [next] year but I am open,” Wall said about his 2023 plans. “I will also be there for my nephew, Chris Horton, for his Late Model. It’s a fun opportunity to be able to coach him and be a supporter. It’s been great to see him progress and get better every race. But I am open to other opportunities. I would love to try something new/different.”
