Langley Speedway Welcomes Atley Wiese as Wacky Wednesday Summer Intern

Langley Speedway is thrilled to announce the addition of Atley Wiese to the Wacky Wednesday team for the summer of 2024. Wiese, known for his prowess behind the wheel of the number 78 Virginia Racer on Saturday nights, will be taking on a new role as an intern focusing on announcing and public address during the Wednesday program.

Wiese brings not only his racing experience but also his passion for communication and entertainment to the Wacky Wednesday team. With a desire to grow as an announcer, Wiese sees this internship as a valuable opportunity to hone his skills and explore a potential future career path in broadcasting.

“We are excited to welcome Atley to our Wacky Wednesday team,” said Wacky Wednesday and Media Relations Director, Justin Kern. “His enthusiasm for racing combined with his interest in announcing makes him a perfect fit for this internship. We look forward to seeing him thrive in this new role and be a stepping stone for what should be a successful career in announcing.

As part of his internship, Wiese will work closely with veteran announcers Adam Wellbrock and Dale Blankenship to learn the ins and outs of live event broadcasting. From providing commentary on the races to engaging with fans and competitors over the public address system, Wiese will have the chance to immerse himself in every aspect of the announcing experience.

“I’m so excited for the opportunity to intern with Wacky Wednesdays at Langley Speedway this summer,” said Atley Wiese. “It means a lot to me that I was considered for this role and that others believe in my potential as an announcer. I’m really looking forward to this because I’m eager to learn more about how to operate the equipment behind the scenes and improve my announcing skills.”

Wacky Wednesday at Langley Speedway offers a unique and exciting mid-week racing experience for fans of all ages. With Atley Wiese joining the team, this summer’s lineup promises to be more thrilling and entertaining than ever before. The speedway will be free and open to the public for preseason practice May 22 with the 2024 season officially getting under way Wednesday, May 29.
