Juan’s Mexican Grill and State Farm Agent Dayton Wiese Partner with Wacky Wednesday for October King of the Hill

Hampton, VA – Double Elimination bracket racing makes its return to Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway this October to close out the Wacky Wednesday with a new title sponsor guaranteed to spice up the competition.

Juan’s Mexican Grill and Cantina are proud to partner with Langley Speedway and Wacky Wednesdays to bring back some of the coolest-looking and fastest cars from all around the seven cities to compete to see who truly is the King of the Hill.  More than $1,000 in cash and prizes have already been confirmed up for grabs this year with more to come.

“I’m thrilled to be sponsoring this year’s King of the Hill at Langley Speedway,” owner Juan Carrilo commented on the partnership. “I’ve loved fast cars for as long as I can remember, I’m excited to be able to give back to the community and support this great event. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to introduce my restaurant to a new audience of Langley fans. I know they’ll love our delicious food and friendly atmosphere. I hope to see everyone at King of the Hill!”

An event that allows the competitors to put their cars to the test, King of the Hill will once again serve as the final send-off for our Wacky Wednesday competitors. The exciting event will take place on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the week following the regular season point’s finale. Wacky Wednesday officials have confirmed a rain date of October 11th should it be needed.

“With such an awesome turnout last year both on the grid and in the stands we cannot wait for this year’s King of the Hill,” Director of Wacky Wednesday Justin Kern said. “I set out last year with a goal of trying to get these guys and gals that race with us week in and week out the most exposure we can, I was not expecting what we got, it reminded me why I love the racing community so much. The outpouring of support we got from local businesses and vendors was amazing and so exciting to see! I can tell you now this year is already shaping up to outdo last year. We are so excited to partner with Juan this year and work together to bring our fan bases together. What is better than fast cars and good food?”

In addition to the brand new partnership between Wacky Wednesday and Juan’s Mexican Grill & Cantina State Farm Agent Dayton Wiese has returned to the 2023 King of the Hill. Not only will Dayton be on hand to help answer any insurance needs you have as you enter the gate he has also sweetened the deal for those who might be debating pulling their car out of the garage. An additional $250 has been confirmed to be added to the winners total this year officially making this year the richest in King of the Hill history.

“Competitors, friends, and fans from Langley Speedway represent a large portion of our business,” Dayton Wiese commented. “Whether it’s Wacky Wednesday, HRKC, Drift Club, or Saturday night races, you will find my team and my family at Langley Speedway. Being a sponsor of King of the Hill is just another way for us to show our support and appreciation.”

The 2023 King of the Hill event will utilize the same rules package as the 2023 regular season with just a couple of changes to race procedures. This event will be limited to 100 cars and late arrivals will not be permitted. Registration and gates will open at 6:00 PM with racing scheduled to begin at 7:30. All competitors will be seeded for their opening round race by way of a random pill pull during vehicle registration. The event will be a double elimination bracket with the final race being a best-of-three event.
