Larry King Law Langley Speedway to Honor Track Champions at Annual Awards Banquet

Hampton, VA — Bill Mullis and the staff of Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway have begun their annual New Year’s tradition of planning yet another top-tier awards banquet to honor all of its champions, competitors, crew, and family.

The Hampton Convention Center, located in Coliseum Central, will play host yet again to the 2023 year-end banquet. Drivers from all twelve divisions will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the evening with a catered meal, awards presentation, dancing, and the always anticipated year-end highlight reel.

Hampton native Connor Hall, arguably one of the hottest stories from the historic speedway, will be on hand to accept his first Late Model Stock Car championship. This comes on the heels of receiving his NASCAR Division title last month in Nashville. Hall, who actually set out in 2023 to compete for the ZMAX Cars Tour championship, found himself in Dale Lemonds Victory lane week in and week out naturally keeping him in command of the points lead.

Hall’s outstanding effort at his home track, with his house car kept the young driver undefeated through the first twelve races of the season. Langley Speedway veteran and six-time Late Model Stock champion Greg Edwards would be the first to dethrone the young star. Edwards would go on to win two more times in 2023 for three wins and a second-place spot in the standings. Former ASA and Legends driver Woody Howard would also deny Hall a victory late in the season – Howard would finish fourth overall. Ryan Matthews, Danny Edwards, Mark Wertz, Justin Carroll, Dean Shifflett, Duane Shreeves, and Cole Bruce would round out the top ten.

Tickets for the 2023 awards banquet are sold out. Doors will open at 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 27th for social hour with a cash bar, dinner will be served at 7:30 and awards will be presented at approximately 8:45 with dancing to follow.
